It's OK to put this foot in your mouth
We had a Catfish Fry at work and each department needed to bring a dessert. I made these flip flop cookies. I used Milanos and peanutbutter cookies as the base, iced them with cake icing, then tied a cut sour patch straw candy and placed at top.

Meet Dash and Thumper
We went to the pet store to get a mouse for Sasha and came home with two female Roborovski Hamsters. They are the tiniest and fastest of hamster breeds. Philip bought them and their cage with money he received from his birthday. I think they are adorable and are look like baby bunnies. Phil just refers to them as "the rats".

Philip played his last game of Regionals today at 9 a.m. Unfortunately, they lost terribly and were eliminated from the tournament. They came in 7th out of 18 teams, including teams from Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri. First place went to Orange Grove County, Mississippi after defeating Bryant (AR).

Happy 7th Birthday Philip
Philip was going to play his first game of Regionals on his birthday, but instead they kicked it off with a picnic. They told us last night we did not have to attend if we didn't want to--so we took the opportunity to take Philip out to eat at Golden Corral (his favorite restaurant). Phil's parents and Alex and Nicholas joined us. After we ate he opened presents from us, Grammy & Pop Pop and Mom Mom & Pop Pop.

Sliding into Seven
We celebrated Philip's 7th birthday a day early, since the Regional Baseball Tournament was starting the day of his actual birthday. We had his party at the local pool and invited his teammates and a few other friends and family. They had pizza, swam for a couple of hours, ate cake and all of the kids went home with chocolate baseball lollipops as favors. Philip had blast. He has never had so many people at his party, since it is hard to contact classmates in July.

Forever in Our Hearts

Today Jadelyn Marie would have been eight years old today. Nico had a birthday party in the morning, which was a bit hard. Phil was umpiring a state tournament, but I took the kids to the cemetery to bring flowers and a balloon. As soon as we left, the sky just opened up and it poured. When the rain finally stopped, a rainbow appeared. We love you and miss you baby girl.

Happy 4th of July!
After our last game Sunday we went out to Jacob's (Philip's teamate) grandfather's house to shoot off fireworks. Philip and Jacob have become really good friends. Phil and Jacob's father Mark, have been friends since junior high. Their three kids, Mckenzie, Shelby and Jacob get along great with our three. Oksana spent the weekend at the lake with our mom so she was not with us.
Bears Take 3rd Place in State Tournament
