Philip's Pack Meeting

Philip got his tiger cub badge tonight at his pack meeting. This is probably the last pack meeting we will make due to his baseball schedule. He plays every Tuesday and that's when they have cubscout meetings. He will now graduate from a Tiger to a Wolf.

Sleepwalking Philip

Philip is always thinking of an excuse to get out of bed after we send him to bed at night. We thought he was settled and on his way to dreamland. Then here he comes, down the hallway and into the kitchen, eyes closed (trying not to peek) and arms outstretched. He "sleepwalked" to the refridgerator to get a quick drink. It was all we could do to keep a straight face as he smiled at us on the way back and ran back to his room. Guess he figured he couldn't get in trouble if he was walking in his sleep!

Happy Birthday Mom Z

We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate Mom Z's birthday. Here is Oksana with Grammy and another photo-op for her Flat Oksana.

Nico's quote of the night was "Grammy, didn't you just love your birthday tonight?"

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hope everyone wore some green today to avoid getting pinched. Finding green in my closet isn't usually that hard since it's my favorite color. Being that it was a work day I just wore my green AGFC uniform shirt. I made leprechaun lemon meringue pies (added green food coloring to the lemon filling)to bring into work for a mini potluck some of us girls planned. The kid's just wore pins this year since they couldn't wear green to school--it's not one of the "approved" school uniform colors. Glad I grew up in a different time when you could really enjoy the holidays to the fullest, even on a school day. Of course, being 1/2 Irish I went to school with a 3" circle pin that said "Kiss Me I'm Irish" on it.

We had our brand new dining set delivered today. It's counter height and sits eight. It came with a matching lazy susan that both Phil and I said we hope the kids don't try to use it as a sit-and-spin. We're really happy with it--house looks more homey and complete. Now I just need a nice painting on the wall and maybe some sconces.

Firehouse Trip

Philip's cub scout troop went to the local fire department tonight to learn about fire safety and earn a belt loop. Oksana and Nico came along and all of them got to explore the fire trucks and shoot water from the hoses.

A-B Honor Roll

I met with the kids' teachers today for conferences. Oksana and Philip both made A-B Honor Roll, got perfect attendance and got a Citizenship award. Way to go!

Father & Daughter Dance

Phil and Oksana went to the Father & Daughter dance for Girst Scouts tonight. The dance had a luau theme. Phil wore a Hawaiian shirt and Oksana wore a floral skirt. Phil said she was pretty shy and would only dance if her did. A professional photographer was at the dance taking posed shots. We'll get them soon, but these were taken before they left. Oksana is holding "Flat Oksana", a paperdoll wearing a Girl Scout uniform. Similar to Flat Stanley, she needs to bring her "Mini-me" with her on her "travles" and make a scrapbook of the journey.
