"I Look Famous"

Philip got dressed this morning and Phil blowdryed and styled his hair. He came out to me and said "Mommy, I look famous." It was too funny. Then later I overheard him telling Nico, after he got his hair done by Daddy, that he looked "almost famous", because Nico's hair didn't look quite as good as his did!

See ya T'Later

This is Philip's favorite new "word". What does it mean? Well, it's not today or tomorrow-- it's sometime later on in the week--at least that's the way he seems to use it. When I told him that "T'Later" is not a word, his response was "Yes it is mommy, you just said it. Now how do you argue with that logic?

The Grades Are In

Congratulations Oksana & Philip on your awesome report cards! Oksana made the principal's honor roll with straight A's and Philip has made a big improvement since last semester. He received the "Bobcat Pride Award" at school--fo kid's with great school spirit.

Overnight Pajama Glam Jam

On January 9th Oksana had seven of her friends over for an OVernight Pajama Glam Jam-- or Spa Sleepover. I set up tables labeled as "Manicures", "Facials" and "Beauty" --but the biggest hit had to be the "Pedicures". The girls took turns soaking their feet in a tub filled with bubble bath for 5 minutes at a time while they read teen magazines. Then they got their feet dried, put some lotion on and went to get their toes painted. It had to be one of the quietest parties--girls were so busy getting beautiful. The next biggest hit had to be the green face mask and cucumbers for the eyes. We had pizza before the Spa Treatments began and afterwards had cake and opened presents. Once they settled for the night they sang and danced with the movie "Camp Rock". The next morning Phil cooked pancakes and they all went home with their Spa favors-- a bottle of bubble bath and bath scrunchie. I guess they had fun--cause some of the girls asked if Oksana could have a spa party again next year!

Happy Birthday Oksana!

Happy Birthday Oksana! I still can't believe you are 9--even if you act 21 sometimes! Most people know there is always a theme for the kid's birthday. This year we decided on a "SPArty" or Spa Themed Birthday Party. I always make the birthday cakes--and this year was one of the easiest I've come up with. I took 2 round cake pans and placed them head to head-trimming off some cake to match them up better--and created a Spa Lady, complete with towel-wrapped head and cucumbers over her eyes. Funny, how no one asked for the slice of cake with them on it!

On Oksana's actual birthday, January 6th, we celebrated with the family at Chuck E. Cheese.

Trail of Holiday Lights

We went to the city's big light display, as we do every year. Admission to the 60+ tree-lined displays is free, but donations are welcome. At the end of the trail kids receive candy canes.

Christmas 2008

Chistmas was a tight one this year but think the kids had a pretty great Christmas. Santa brought all of the kids new bikes and bows for hunting. We opened gifts Christmas morning at our house and then went to my in-laws' house to open more gifts with them and and eat dinner. Sunday after Christmas we headed back to celebrate with with Phil's brother Tony and his wife Misty and their two boys, Gaige and Cohen. To those I didn't get a card out to-- this was our Christmas Card picture.
