The Romance Continues

The next day I went to pick Nico up from daycare, Kylie came rushing over to me to hold my hand and lead me over to Nico. Nico hugged her goodbye. I asked Nico about Kylie as we were leaving and he told me she's his girlfriend again. So the romance continues.

Puppy Love

I picked Nico up from daycare yesterday adn when he got in the van he said, "I'm sad." I asked him why. He said,"Kylie doesn't want to be my girlfriend anymore." Kylie is an adorable little blonde girl is Nico's class. His teacher has had to seperate them at times for kissing. He's 3 1/2! I am not ready for this! He went on to tell me that Kylie is now Braden's girlfriend. Who knows where this soap opera will lead-- will Nico get over Kylie and move on, or will he try to win her back from Braden? Stay tuned.

Nephew's Communion

My nephew Alex celebrated his First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 2nd. Despite the torrential rainstorm we had all day long we had a good time. We all went to a Mexican restaurnt afterwards for the reception. The party was going to be on the outside deck, but the rain moved us inside. This picture is of Alex and Oksansa inside the restaurant. Phil, his Dad and I stayed until closing to watch the Pacquiao and Hatton fight on Pay Per View. Found out the owner's name is Nico-- short for Dominico.

Snake in the Grass

Oksana was in the driveway last Thursday, when I came home from work. She had something to show me. This is what she had in her hand--a garteer snake. Luckily for her, this mom likes snakes. One thing that Phil and I have to stress to the kids is that snakes found in the wild are not as tame as our snake, Sasha.

Happy Birthday Phil

I met you when you were 19, and now your a 35 year old man! We've been through good times and bad in the last fifteen years, but we did it together. Happy Birthday, darlin!

Disney On Ice

We took the kids to see Disney on Ice: Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey Friday (4/24) night. We got a late start so we decided we would eat dinner after the show. The kids said they were not really hungry. While we were waiting for the show to start, allof the food vendors kept walking by. They asked for cotton candy and so I asked for three bags. I almost choked when the vedor said $30. $10 for a big of cotton candy? Yes, when it comes with a Flounder (fish from "The Little Mermaid") hat! They got $30 cotton candy because I felt guilty not feeding them beforehand and I had just gotten paid. Talk about a mother's guilt! Overall we had a great time, we had great seats, 1st tier, center.

Nature Center Field Trip

Philip's class went to the Nature Center downtown on Friday (4/24). I work for the Game and Fish, that built the center. I took the division's digital camera to take some pictures of the students enjoying the displays. The aquariums are by far the biggest hit. Philip has been to the nature center quite a few times, but still likes to go. It's a great place to take the kids, and its free!

The classes had lunch under the pavillion in the River Market just a few yards away. When lunch was finished, we went on to the new Riverfront Park. The park features a splash fountain fo rthe kids to cool off. Since they were going back on the bus to school, this area was off limits. The park has underground tunnels to go down and come up in another area--so parents had to guard these areas to keep our kids from getting wet. Some did manage to sneak over and get completly soaked. I'm sure if I wasn't on the trip, Philip would have found his way there, too.

I took Philip back to the office with me when the field trip was over. Steve "Wildman" Wilson gave me an autographed Talkin' Outdoors hat for him, a flash light, a coin and some stickers. We have a large aquarium in the lobby with fish, turtles and baby alligators. The Education department let him feed the alligators some baby tadpoles (sorry, Aunt Lisa). They also let him take some tadpoles home, since they were getting ready to clean the tank. So we now have about ten tadpoles in an aquarium at home.
